Dr. Charles Steele on the Safety of Natural Gas Pipeline Infrastructure

Dr. Charles Steele recently joined the Coalition for the Expansion of Pipeline Infrastructure for a conversation about natural gas pipelines and the many benefits they provide farmers. Dr. Steele has extensively studied the economics of natural gas infrastructure, recently co-authoring a white paper on the relationship between increased access to natural gas and the agricultural sector.

In this segment, Dr. Steele discusses misconceptions about pipeline projects. Among these are concerns about the potential effects of natural gas pipelines on property values and the safety of these projects. According to Dr. Steele, projects like the Rover Pipeline have no discernible effect on property values or the ability to obtain a mortgage, and are ultimately “hands-down the safest way to transport natural gas.”
