CEPI Welcomes IUOE Local 18 as Newest Member

IUOE Local 18

The Coalition for the Expansion of Pipeline Infrastructure (CEPI) is happy to announce the addition of the International Union of Operating Engineers (IUOE) Local 18 to its growing list of members. Based in Cleveland, Ohio, Local 18 represents a valuable addition to an already diverse partnership of businesses, trade associations and labor groups that collectively support the responsible expansion of critical energy infrastructure across Michigan, Ohio, and West Virginia.

For more than 70 years, Local 18 and its 15,000 members have committed themselves to diligently building and maintaining key infrastructure investments across Ohio. Notably, Operating Engineers are currently helping to build a new 800 megawatt natural-gas fired power plant in Lucas County. The plant, which is scheduled for completion later this year, will provide an affordable source of clean energy to over 500,000 homes in the region.

Operating Engineers also play a critical role in the construction of key pipeline projects necessary to deliver domestically produced natural gas to market. Specifically, the $4.2 billion Rover Pipeline will generate upwards of 6,500 well-paying jobs.

Please join use in welcoming Local 18 to CEPI!
